Samsung Songdo Edison Center

SONGDO, with an investment of USD 35 billion, is the largest private real estate venture in South Korea’s history and is referred to as the world’s new aerotropolis.

All the buildings in the 6 sqkm business district having been certified by LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), it’s needless to say the emphasis placed on the ‘green’ philosophy.

ASSA ABLOY South Korea was awarded a prestigious contract to supply 250 TRIMEC ES2100 electric strikes and 180 BesamEMSW-EMO door operators for the SONGDO Edison Centre (a bio technology research centre). The TRIMEC ES2100 series strike ticked all the right boxes thanks to its very minimal power consumption and the tick of approval from the Australian Government’s Security Construction and Equipment Committee (SCEC) for use on high security doors. The unique field-selectable configuration capabilities of the strike (fail safe/fail secure) also made the specification and order process easier for the distributor and integrator.

ASSA ABLOY’s continuous training, support and innovation, our key business partners are always looking for opportunities to have our solutions specified to specify for and secure the landmark SONGDO Edison Centre project is no exception.
